I construct movement that comes from my body. My work is about the creation, and the pleasure of creating. I like making dance. I like wiggling around.
I construct movement that comes from my body. There is an inkling of panic behind all movement that I produce. The moves are not done in panic but rather they come from a panicked body. I create from a state of jitters. Panic comes to me as hard as I try to rid myself of it. I rarely feel calm while making dance.
I construct movement that comes from my body. Improvisation is a large role in my choreographic process. I do not preplan my ideas but rather come in with an empty, open mind and start from the bare minimum. I dance. I zone out of my life. I do not focus on anything other than the impulses my specific body does in the moment of making. My movement is not generated from what my head wants me to do. I generate from the body. After movement is created I decide where it goes and what it does for the dance. I change my mind many times.
