Maria DiMarzio is a graduate from Wayne State University with a B.F.A Dance degree. She is from Sterling Heights, Michigan but has lived in Detroit for the past four years. She enjoys jumping around big empty spaces and wiggling outside. She is a performer and choreographer. Her movement creation is inspired by quick study choreography techniques and improvisation. When Maria creates work, she focuses on relationships between dancers in space. Maria has worked with Dr. Biba Bell, Ron K. Brown, Nick Cave, Dr. RAS Mikey Courtney, Faye Driscoll, Jenn Freeman, Nicholas Leichter, Trey McIntyre, Thelma Mwandido, and Meg Paul. She loves performing in intimate spaces with an up close and personal audience to be able to feel their presence. Dance has always been her main focus and has guided her through life. Maria’s parents are her biggest supporters and have been there for her every step of the way.
